Im still here!
Still in the game...
I know I have been absent lately, but my journey still continues! I had a minor set back when my family cruise landed the same week as my goal to complete BNC1. I completed the course and passed the pre assessments, but when came time to take the test proctoru let me down. I scheduled the test when I came back from my cruise (we went to Mexico) but proctoru had a glitch in the system that stated that my exam was cancelled. Never again will I depend on proctoru! I was ready and confident on passing and then came spring break. No scheduling of test during spring break. Now i'm forced to wait until the end of the week to take my assessment. In the process of waiting I passed a class!! EST1 was done in a week using the bootcamp cohort! I had no revisions on either and task 2 was 4's down the board!! I'm now working on LWC1. This a a tougher course but in the word of Jim J I will pass! I have my BNC! scheduled to be taken at my local community college this week.
Wish me Blessing!!

First month at WGU!!
Hi Guys!!!
So I officially got started (enrolled) today! I had my third mentor call today. She enrolled me in three courses BNC1, EST1, and LWC1.
When I knock those out I can just add on more if time permits. My mentor is pretty cool so far, she gets straight to the point with no chaser. I started working in my class about a week ago before the term started. I was able to access my e-book which is really all you need to read the chapters and then take your exam when ready. I'm now on week 3 in the pacing guide so I'm 2 weeks ahead. My goal is to be done next week!
This class requires lots of reading. I took the Pre-assesment and made 4 points below the cut score without knowing much about the other chapters. I plan to take the test before the 20th because the week after is the week of vacation, Birthday and Anniversary (poor Hubby)! I got an email yesterday letting me know that my success kit was on it's way. The Oh so famous liquid motivation cup and oh yea the alien cam (hehe). So far so good though, I'm loving how WGU allows me to challenge myself by working as fast as I want.
Ta Ta for now, time for some late night studying (Night Owl) Whoooooo!

After orientation wgu
Whew!
I'm done with orientation! It was actually pretty fun. It was filled with lots of information about my program and the school. I know that I will have tons of help along the way. About a day or so after completing my orientation I received an email stating my next steps. It stated that I will be receiving a mentor in a couple of days.
While waiting to hear from my mentor I explored some of the communities in the student success community (a resource). There I found stories of other students and read about there personal situations. I have a group that I check in on a day to day basis that has people who are in my same degree program. While networking in the communities those two days went by quick. While checking my email I seen a subject line titled ''Hello from your new mentor''.
I clicked it with excitement to find out who my new cheerleader would be. In the email I was to select 3 times for me and her to have our first call. I choose the first time slot that was available. We spoke for about twenty minutes. The conversation went well.
The next step is for me and my mentor to discuss a degree plan. I scheduled to have that done this coming Wednesday. She explained to me that it will be done via adobe connect by sharing my computer screen (if that makes any sense). After the call I received a recap email on what we went over and a little ''homework'' that included somewhat of a survey and my vision statement.
So far so good. While waiting to discuss my degree plan I will be back in the student communities. Someone always has helpful tips and information to share!
Stay tuned and thanks for reading....
